ABOUT STUART MOONEY
Stuart Mooney is truly an “American Buddha”. He is a renowned author, teacher and healer. For nearly 40 years, he has lectured, all over the world, on the “Nature of the Awakened Consciousness”. Stuart was one of the first western clinicians to use yogic meditation in the treatment of mental illness and, in 1972, he helped perform landmark research into the effects of mantra meditation on the human brain. Even today, Stuart remains on the cutting edge of the study of the Psychophysiology of the Awakened Consciousness.
Stuart’s clinical background intrigued the Indian Gurus, and, while he was living in South India, Stuart was used as a channel by the South Indian “Siddha” masters. Over the years, he has been authorized to teach more than 100 secret spiritual techniques by the Gurus of India. Stuart has also been approved to transmit spiritual knowledge under the authority of the Shankaracharya of South India. This is a rare honor for a westerner because the Shankaracharya is often referred to as the Indian equivalent of the Pope. A MIRACLE STORY
Now, I want to share with you my story. It is a story that will, without question, happen to each and every
one of you some day. Although it is the story of final Awakening, an Awakening to Oneness or to Unity
Consciousness, it is actually a story which took lifetimes of
experiences to create. The fact that I survived it all to get to
the final Awakening is a miracle in itself.
I was in India at the time. I was at the Golden City in the
State of Andrea Pradesh. I remember that it was a very hot,
humid morning in late April. I was with a group of perhaps 40
westerners and we were all waiting to meet with Archarya
Samadarshini. She is one the three principle disciples of
Amma and Bhagwan, the reknown Avatars who have millions
of followers throughout the world. Samadarshini is said to
exist in a rather unique state of consciousness. It is said the she
is at the level of development equivalent to a Christ or a
Buddha. To meet her is to meet love in human form. There is
no other way that I can describe it.
When she walked into the large meeting hall that we had
gathered in, the air immediately became charged with a sense
of uncontainable joy. She was a young woman, perhaps in her
early thirties, dressed in pure white monk’s attire. Her eyes
were stunning. They were an endlessly deep dark brown. She
sat on a chair before us and motioned us to come up very close
to her. We all quickly surrounded the chair and giggled. As
soon as she spoke, I could tell that she was very sharp. This
was a very intelligent individual. But it was her compassion
that was completely and utterly overpowering. It was as if she
selected each of her words for the perfect transmission of
Divine Love. She asked us to speak one at a time. She wanted
to know our story. As we each spoke, it was clear that she was
replying directly to our Souls. Each of our stories were different.
Life had guided each one of us through a difficult and
circuitous route that ended at this moment, at this spot, in her
Divine Presence.
Finally, the microphone was handed to me. I remember it
so clearly. I reached to my right and gripped the microphone
with my hand. But something seemed very different. My hand
appeared not to be my personal hand anymore. I looked up
into the stunning eyes of the saint and I began to speak. I
recall giving my name and where I was from in the states.
Then these words seemed to exit my mouth from an unfathomable
source as if the Divine had suddenly taken me over. I
said, “May I ask you favor? She answered “Yes” in a soft tone.
I said the following,” I want to thank Amma and Bhagwan,
personally, for Awakening me to Oneness. Would you thank
them for me right now?” Samadarshini proceeded to close her
eyes. For more than ten minutes, there was the most intense
silence imaginable. I sat transfixed through it all. I heard crying.
Many in our group of westerners were in tears as it was a
deeply moving experience for everyone present. Finally, the
young saint opened her eyes. She looked directly into my eyes
and said the following,” You have your Oneness. Amma and
Bhagwan have blessed you with Oneness and you will be
directed by Divine Grace for the rest of your life. From this
moment onward, Bhagwan is the doing. You are just the witness.”
And with those simple words, my destiny changed. It
completely changed. There was so much support for my activities
after that. My book, this book, American Buddha, immediately
was approved for publication. An audio and video
series manifested out of nowhere. Seminars seemed to manifest
out of thin air. People from all over the world started
e-mailing or contacting me by phone asking for healing or to
become my student.
Everywhere I go, now, there is invariably
a request for a healing or a blessing. Even my bank teller asked
me for a blessing this morning. It is a far cry from just a few
months back when I had all but given up on the book project. The book, American Buddha, and my life have become a miracle.
Divine Grace has descended upon me and I am forever a
vehicle for the Creator. I am that Oneness and my only wish
is for you to also become that Oneness.
Now, you may ask what the difference is between
Awakening and the state of Oneness or Unity Consciousness.
I would put it this way. Awakening is a personal
Enlightenment. You are Enlightened, but your world remains
a divided world. In the state of Oneness or Unity, the divisions
disappear and there is no more separation between you and
your world. There is no more distinction between the personal
and the universal. The Universe simply becomes an aspect
of your personal self. Therefore, the real power to transform the world exists only in the state of Oneness.
